De-stressing
What could be more rewarding to go out away from the buzz of the city life, leave a pile of work, and just chill out on a beautiful white-sand beach? This. Is. Life.
I wish weekends are always like this.

R.I.P. Steve Jobs
I was just about to whine of the too much hype everywhere about the new iphone 4s. And I know how much I wanted it and I am very well aware that don’t have the money to get one. LOL. But i’m good with my current phone. It served me well for a long time. Despite its dents and heavy scratches, it’s still the most beautiful, and yes, useful thing ever. Thank you Mr. Steve Jobs.
Apple will never be the same without you. Rest in peace.

Fried Oreos
A friend shared me this recipe. Thought it was weird. Well, it sounds kinda gross.
But I was soooo wrong. I never thought fried oreos would be this yummy! Ha! You should try it too. Making it is as simple as A-B-C!
For the ingredients you only need these:
Egg, Vegetable Oil, Pancake Mix, and Oreos! The candy sprinkles are optional for presentation. Although, my friend’s recipe includes milk, I figured out that milk would only make it sweeter, and I don’t like it too sweet so I ruled out the milk.
Actually, I do not know the right measurements of the ingredients. Haha. Don’t ask me how many cups or scoops are needed because I was only playing with the ingredients.
Just mix the egg, a bit of vegetable oil (i used only 1/2 teaspoon), and pancake mix until you get the right consistency. It should not be runny and not too thick. Mix these until no lumps remain.
Dip the oreos into the batter.
Then carefully place the cookies into a pre-heated vegetable oil. The oil should be enough to deep fry the cookies. Cook until the cookies are golden brown. This should only take less than two minutes. Then take out the cookies and drain it with a paper towel.
And voila!
Best when served hot. Enjoy!
PS - Eat moderately. We really don't want this sweet treat be a sweet threat.

Because today is Mother's Day
If this is true, then am I a SUPERHUMAN?
At 24, this petite little body gave birth to a 6-pounder healthy baby boy via Normal Spontaneous Vaginal Delivery. I never felt pain. No screaming, nothing like in the movies, no epidural anaesthesia, no pain relievers. Only pure courage, excitement and a wee bit of nervousness.
I labored without even knowing it. Or I think I did, it’s just that I was expecting for “too much” pain as how my clinical instructors described it, and as how the other mother-to-be on the other bed has been screaming of intense pain at 5cm dilatation.
I pushed for more or less than 10 minutes. I pushed only 5 times or less. And then and there I heard my son's first cry. Finally, after 9 months of waiting, my pride and joy went out of this world. I could not explain how I felt at that time. Everything was so surreal.
Perhaps, it is the feeling of wanting to see my baby for the first time made it feel that giving birth is just like having a big poop. Seriously. Maybe there was pain, but I am just so happy and the excitement was just too overwhelming for me to feel it.
I am just one of those women who have high tolerance for pain. I am just one of those fortunate to have no problems giving birth and I thank God for that.
Not all mothers may be as superhuman as I am. But every mother is a superwoman in her own way. I salute all mothers who bore the burden of carrying a 7-pound baby inside her, endured the pain of labor and the horrors of giving birth, and went through all the hardships and pain brought about by a rebellious child, yet never ceased to give love that is unconditional.
I admire my mother for being that. I admire her for who she is. Despite her big machine-gun mouth and tigress-like disapproving eyes, I admire her courage and strength, and her determination to bring out the best in us. She is a real-life superwoman.
We may have quarrels and qualms for each other, nevertheless, whatever happened and may happen, I do and will always love her.
It’s September, so why this blog? Because every day a child is born. Every damn day a mom cries, sighs, and gets hurt. Yet every day, a mother never fails to care and she never ceases to love. So I say, today, tomorrow, and the rest of our lives… every day should be a Mother’s day!
Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there!

Inkling, please?
I used to draw on paper, scan it, save it in my computer, then color/enhance it in photoshop:
Then, I mastered the use of pen tool in photoshop and I find it great to create vector graphics:
When I had my first graphics pen, I just have to draw freely in Photoshop.
It really made me save a lot of time. Ctrl+z is a lifesaver whereas using a real eraser can be messy and you do it the hard way. It’s quite easy to draw on a graphics pen, albeit difficult as my hands are more used to the rough surface of a paper.
Of course, I will always prefer to draw on paper because the details on a pencil-drawn project are finer and more precise. So drawing on photoshop means losing the smallest and finest details. :/
I still consider myself an amateur, so I guess I just do not know how to do it right.
BUT Wacom is about to release a real life saver. With this, I can do an old-fashioned-pen-on-paper drawing digitally. OMFG! This is a must-have for every graphic artist!!!
All awesomeness contained. I would really save up for this.
